Fourth Edition of the Award entitled to Ernesto Scoffone, year 2024
Dear Colleagues and Members of the Italian Peptide Society,
on behalf of the Executive Board and the Scientific Committee of the Italian Peptide Society (ItPS), it is my pleasure to inform you that applications for the fourth edition of the Life Career Award entitled to Ernesto Scoffone are open. The Ernesto Scoffone Prize is awarded during the Congress of the Italian Peptide Society to remember the fundamental role of Professor Ernesto Scoffone in the foundation of the Peptide community in Italy and his notable contributions to peptide chemistry. The Award has also the scope to highlight the vitality of our scientific community.
The Award identifies a Senior Researcher, without age, profession or nationality restrictions, who has made significant contributions to peptide science during his or her career.
Each member of the ItPS who wishes to propose an application must submit two documents to the attention of the Executive Board and the Scientific Committee of ItPS: 1) a short CV of the proposed candidate (following attached template), which summarizes the results of the research for which the application is proposed, with a list of 5 publications showing the important results achieved by the proposed candidate (max 2 pages); 2) a letter justifying the proposed candidature, signed by the supporting member or members. In fact, applications can be supported by multiple members. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
Applications must be submitted in English, saving the two required documents in a single pdf file as: “Name-Surname.pdf” (of the candidate). The pdf file has to be sent via e-mail to: societaitalianapeptidi@gmail.com, no later than October 15th 2024, indicating “Ernesto Scoffone Award 2024”, in the subject of the email.
The Executive and Scientific Committees of ItPS will indicate three shortlisted candidates, which will then be voted by all regularly registered ItPS members, via the Society's website. The prize may be shared between candidates in the event of a tie in the vote.
The winner will receive a commemorative medal and a certificate of Award, and be invited to give a presentation at the next conference of the Italian Peptide Society which will take place in June 2025, in Aussois, together with the GFPP-French Peptide Society. The registration and accommodation costs will be covered by ItPS.
